I would recommend you use Network Solutions. I have had two website with them in the past. For the first they only provided my space, and in my second (and current) website they provided both my space and domain name. Excellent service. Good prices. AWESOME support. Every time I needed help with something, their support reps were right there. I have recommended them to plenty of other people, and I am recommending them to you.

Personally, I never use GoDaddy for hosting (they are my preferred registrar, though), but they are good if you are a novice.

There are huge numbers of hosts out there. Go to a hosting comparison site, and go through the top ten or so. You’re bound to find a package you like.

I’m a bit concerned, though. Are you getting a separate hosting package for every site? I have 20 or so sites, and they are all on one hosting package. This works out a lot cheaper.

I prefer to register my domain names with NameCheap.com, use the coupon code “INTERFACE” for a discount.

I do my hosting with Hostgator. I don’t know of any coupons right now, but I will try to post them on my site if I find some.

    Hope that helps,
    Eric

Bluehost works great until they actually do have a problem. I have seen very few problems with them but I did have an issue where DNS from my server wasn’t being pushed to their name servers. It took them over 2 weeks to identify the issue and push it up to a network admin to spend 5 mins to fix.

Again they have great servers, but I fear their support system is flawed and does not work when there is a real problem.

Moreover the break down of what happened was:

Zero Hour – Called and reported issue with subdomains not updating in the name servers – Support staff said they contacted “level 3 personnel” and were pushing the updates again.
3 hours – Called again, they said it takes 4-24 hours for the settings to propagate. I explained that the name servers should instantly update when doing a dig or nslookup — they said their level three support staff was once again pushing updates.
25 hours – Called again, they said it was still updating and they would re-push again.
36 hours – Called again – this time they responded with that there was an issue with the server and they were fixing it.
5 days – Called again, problem still there – they said it was another issue. Re-pushing dns.
7 days – This time I added a new domain. It didn’t update either. Called again. They said to wait 24 hours for dns to propagate, the other domains should be working. They were not and told them that and they said it seems to be working from their end.
9 days – This time I called threatening to discontinue service. They referred me to a domain specialist that said because it was the weekend their server admins were not in, but he identified the problem as DNS syncing. He said to check back on the ticket in 2 days.
13 days – Still not working! Called again and told them to cancel service. They said the server admins were never notified, but were notified and should be working on it immediately, before I hung up, the sites were working. Problem resolved 13 days later.
